My husband and I took a leap of faith and moved to Door County from Kentucky in 1994 - in March no less! I always joke that we loaded up the moving van in shorts and unpacked in snow suits. My husband started a small construction company and I started a small retail store in an old barn we rehabbed together. 26 years later we have expanded our business three times and we now work together at both Door County Nature Works and Designworks. We started Designworks over 15 years ago when we realized there was a need for quality home furnishings and interior design services in Door County. We have made incredible friendships through the years with our customers. I enjoy finding beautiful home furnishings and pairing customers with our talented design team. I truly want every client to love their home!

As one of the owners of Door County Nature Works and Design Works, I oversee our deliveries and installations. I am also a certified Hunter Douglas installer. Having owned a construction company I strongly believe in “Measuring twice and cutting once.” As the sole male member of our team I rarely hear conversations about sports or engines while at work. In my free time I like to restore antique tractors and work on my farm. I serve on the Egg Harbor Public Works Committee, the Door County Y and Gibraltar Area School Boards as well as the Ellie Helm Foundation.
